About the department

The Department of Basic Health Sciences is the largest department in the college in terms of the number of faculty members and the second largest department in the college, as it contains many academic courses with (34) accredited teaching units. It is considered one of the departments supporting the (Pharm.D) program, and it does not grant an academic degree. Participation in preparing competent clinical pharmacists through an interactive pharmaceutical educational environment of international quality in basic health sciences contributes to providing health care to the Saudi community, supports the relationship between pharmaceutical education, scientific research and health care, and also participates in preparing scientific and health research to serve the community.

  • Build a culture that integrates basic health sciences with clinical pharmacy.

  • Raise awareness of the importance of clinical biochemistry in diagnosing and treating various disease.

  • Conduct applied research in pathophysiology, helping to better understand disease mechanisms.

  • Provide precise and effective education and training for clinical pharmacy students in molecular biology and related fields.

  • Study and evaluate sterilization methods which emphasizes their importance in clinical practice.
